Text and Data Mining (TDM)

Governments, more than ever, are wanting to see a demonstrated ROI from the research infrastructures they fund. Tracking the impact of national facilities’ such as ALA, via data usage, academic literature citations and alternative metrics are mechanisms by which this impact can be measured. The challenge was to collect these metrics in an accurate and efficient way to enable better reporting on the publications/news items that cite the ALA.
