Components of a standard

Standards in Intertek Inform include a number of elements and options.

This section will help you to understand the information being presented.

  1. Standard number.
  2. Is the standard current? Other statuses include Superseded, Cancelled and Withdrawn.
  3. Standard title.
  4. Publisher of the standard.
  5. Language in which the standard is available. Note: ensure you select EN if you wish to make a purchase.
  6. Standard version. Note: the database includes older and superseded versions in addition to the current standard.
  7. Option to preview several pages of the standard.
  8. Summary of the content of the standard.
  9. Australian equivalence (if available). This is a helpful section to check because if an Australian equivalent is available, the full text will be available to view online and download.

  11. Option to add the standard to your watch list and automatically receive notification of changes to the content.
  12. Copy the standard link and send it to colleagues with Intertek Inform accounts so they can view the content.

Redline version

Some standards in Intertek Inform include Redline in the title:

This refers to a marked up copy that highlights the changes between the current and previous version of a standard. It is not a new version of a standard.

You will generally have the option to request a standard without the markup included.
