Discovery Guide

This guide gives basic details on searching the library collections using the Discovery tool

Set a search alert

Set an alert for a saved search to receive an email notification when new resources are added to the Library collection. 

Utilising search techniques ensures you receive a manageable number of relevant search results for your alerts.

  1. ensure you are signed into Discovery
  2. run a search and select save query
  3. select turn on notification for this query in the yellow prompt that appears at the top of the page
  4. confirm your email address in the pop-up box and select Save.

The yellow prompt will disappear after a few seconds.

  1. If you miss the prompt, access your saved searches by selecting the Pin button from the top right-hand corner of the Discovery page
  2. toggle alerts on by selecting the bell icon to the right of each saved search
  3. you can also choose to save the search as an RSS feed by selecting the WIFI icon.

Remove a search alert

  1. sign-in to Discovery
  2. access your saved searches by selecting the Pin from the top right-hand corner of the Discovery page
  3. deselect the bell icon to the right of the saved search to cease alerts for that search.
