Mendeley

Searching Your Library

  • Enter a keyword in the top right-hand search box to find documents as you type
  • This search includes global notes and tags by default
  • Filter by clicking the arrow and selecting from the drop down list

Creating Collections

  • Click the 'New Collection' option in the left hand pane to a new collection and name it.
  • Drag and drop files or references into a collection

Tip:  Start with search to help find things quickly

The real usefulness of collections is for reducing the scope of your search, or for allowing a quicker browse of your Library

Using Tags

  • Select a document and add tags in the right hand details pane
  • Search for tag names to find a group of documents easily
  • Tags are similar to collections, however, it’s easier to add lots of tags to a document than it is to drag it into several collections
