Research Publications Repository external user guide

Browsers now require cache and cookies to be cleared more often. While this is not an error caused by the Research Publications Repository (RPR), it could be a reason why the page won't load.

We recommend clearing your browser's cache and cookies if you receive an error message like this (or if the RPR page doesn't load). You may need to clear them for all time.

How to clear cache & cookies in:

• Google Chrome
• Mozilla Firefox
• Microsoft EDGE
• Safari

If clearing the cache and cookies doesn't work then you can also try opening a private/incognito window in the browser. 

Once you have opened the private/incognito window paste the link in and see if it will open. 

Here is how to open a private/incognito window in:

• Microsoft EDGE
• Safari

When you are downloading PDFs from the Research Publications Repository (RPR) you will get a progress bar for your download. 

We recommend that you:

1. Click once the link to the PDF - you will find it in the 'Full text availability' section
2. Wait 30 - 60 secs for the download to happen
3. When the progress bar is complete, check your downloads folder (or wherever your browser saves files), to see if the file has downloaded
4. If it hasn't downloaded, then try again 

Smaller files can be quick but larger files can take some time to download.
