Document Delivery

This guide covers what document delivery is and how to request resources through the service.

How long will it take?

Indicative delivery times are below however external libraries and supplier delivery times vary so we will advise if there are extended delays.

  • Articles and chapters: 1-2 working days
  • Books supplied from the CSIRO Library collection: 3 working days
  • Books supplied from external libraries: 7-10 working days
  • Books purchased: 10-14 working days
Note: Include as much information as possible in your request so that we can find and deliver the resource to you as quickly as possible.

How will I receive my resource?

  • Book chapters, journal and newspaper articles and conference papers are delivered electronically and you will receive an email notification when files are ready to download.
  • Books will be available to pick up at Black Mountain Library or alternatively will be sent to your work address. Please ensure your contact details are current on CSIROpeople.

How long can I keep my resource?

CSIRO owned print resources

  • Will be issued to you for twelve months with unlimited renewals unless the resource is recalled for use by another staff member. If the resource is recalled, we will contact you to discuss options.
  • A courtesy notice is sent when items are nearing their due date. 

External library print resources

  • Will be issued to you for a period time that is specified by the external library. This could be anywhere from one to three months. Please adhere to the due date on the book strap.
