Learn about ORCID and how to link your ORCID to CSIRO

CSIRO and ORCID iDs

Authenticate

CSIRO is collecting your ORCID so we can better associate your research activities and outputs across multiple CSIRO systems. When you click the “Authorise” button, we will ask you to share your iD using an authenticated process either by registering for an ORCID iD or, if you already have one, by signing into your ORCID account, then granting us permission to capture your ORCID. We do this to ensure that you are correctly identified and securely connecting your ORCID. Learn more about What’s so special about signing in.

Connect

By sharing your ORCID with CSIRO, and giving us permission to read and update your ORCID record, you enable us to help you keep your record up-to-date with trusted information from CSIRO's Research Publications Repository and Data Access Portal.

Display

To acknowledge that you have connected your ORCID and that it has been authenticated, we display the ORCID icon  alongside your name on your publications in the Research Publications Repository, and your data and software in the Data Access Portal. Your ORCID will display on your CSIRO People profile.

How to connect your ORCID to CSIRO

  1. First go to CSIRO Research Publications Repository, and sign in with your CSIRO staff account.
  2. Then sign in to your ORCID account, and authorise the connection to CSIRO.
    • Note: If your ORCID record's visibility setting is private then the connection with CSIRO will not work. Please set your visibility to Public before connecting to CSIRO.

You don't have an ORCID, but would like to get one

Choose Register now to sign up.

You will be asked to provide some details, and then to authorise access for CSIRO to connect to your ORCID profile.

Authorise the access and you will receive a success email.

Your ORCID should now display on your CSIRO people profile. Your affiliation with CSIRO will show on your ORCID record.
