Learn about ORCID and how to link your ORCID to CSIRO

Registering for an ORCID iD?

Getting an ORCID iD is a quick and easy process. CSIRO staff and students can Register for an ORCID iD.

It is recommended that you use your CSIRO email address, you can add other email addresses to your profile once registered.

You will receive a success email once you have registered and connected your ORCID profile to CSIRO. Your ORCID should now display on your CSIRO people profile. Your affiliation with CSIRO will show on your ORCID record.

Note: If your ORCID record's visibility setting is private then the connection with CSIRO will not work. Please set your visibility to Public before connecting to CSIRO.

If you experience any issues during registration, please contact Ask a Librarian for assistance.

Manage the visibility and privacy of your ORCID profile

You may control how much of your ORCID record is publicly visible. For both your personal information and information about your works, three settings are available:

  • Public or Everyone: information is available via the ORCID API and visible to visitors to the ORCID website.

  • Trusted parties: information is visible only to individuals and organisations you authorise.

  • Private: information is visible only to you.

For more information see Visibility settings in the ORCID Knowledge Base, and ORCID's Privacy policy.
