Systematic Reviews

Writing and Publishing

The final step of your systematic review is to write and publish it so that you can share your analysis and results. If you have carried out your review with a set methodology such as Cochrane, Campbell or JBI, then your path to publication will be clear. Alternatively, as with any research paper, you will need to consider several factors when making your decision about the best place to publish your review. Another element to consider is whether there are any Open Access journals that would be a good avenue for you to publish in. Detailed information is available via the links below.

When writing your review you will need to included evidence of how you found and selected your included items (often required to be in the form of a PRISMA flow diagram and a completed PRISMA checklist), you may also be required to provide at least one search string in either the body of the text or an appendix. We would suggest that even if not required to, that you report your search process (including the dates you searched, where you searched and at least one search string) in the body or the methodology section of the review paper.
