RevMan has been designed to integrate with other systematic review software and new features and updates are added regularly. Cochrane Review authors can log in to RevMan to view the dashboard (all reviews) and edit reviews online. No cost for Cochrane authors, an annual subscription cost is charged to other users.

NVivo is intended to help users organize and analyze non-numerical or unstructured data. The software allows users to classify, sort and arrange information; examine relationships in the data; and combine analysis with linking, shaping, searching and modeling. CSIRO does not provide this software.

Publish or Perish is a free software program that retrieves and analyzes academic citations. It uses a variety of data sources to obtain the raw citations, then analyzes these and presents a range of citation metrics, including the number of papers, total citations and the h-index.

You can also use Publish or Perish to decide which journals to submit to, to prepare for a job interview, to conduct a literature review, to do bibliometric research etc

a Web application that applies machine learning techniques to semi-automate the research article screening process. Users can upload research articles from existing databases and manually screen a small portion of these articles. The Research Screener system will then actively learn the most relevant articles for the study and present these to the researcher during the screening process.

SciMAT is a free, open source (GPLv3) software tool developed to perform a science mapping analysis under a longitudinal framework. SciMAT provides different modules that help the analyst to carry out the steps of the science mapping workflow:

A module dedicated to the management of the knowledge base and its entities,
A module responsible for carrying out the science mapping analysis, and
A module to visualize the generated results and maps.

This tool automates this process by making use of the Lens.org API. An input article list can be used to return a list of all referenced records, and/or all citing records in the Lens.org database (consisting of PubMed, PubMed Central, CrossRef, Microsoft Academic Graph and CORE)

PRISMA is an evidence-based minimum set of items for reporting in systematic reviews and meta-analyses. PRISMA primarily focuses on the reporting of reviews evaluating the effects of interventions, but can also be used as a basis for reporting systematic reviews with objectives other than evaluating interventions (e.g. evaluating aetiology, prevalence, diagnosis or prognosis).

PROSPERO accepts registrations for systematic reviews, rapid reviews and umbrella reviews. PROSPERO does not accept scoping reviews or literature scans. Sibling PROSPERO sites registers systematic reviews of human studies and systematic reviews of animal studies.
