View & Renew Loans on MyDiscovery

Log-in to MyDiscovery to check items that you have on loan

The standard monograph loan period is twelve months with one automatic renewal

Thereafter library staff may extend the loan by further twelve month periods upon request

A two week loan period applies to items with a request queue

A revised due date of 2 weeks is applied when a request is placed by another user

A courtesy notice is sent when items are near the due date

Recalled items cannot be renewed

Library Notices

The following system generated notices are issued by the library:

Borrowing Activity Report : reminder of borrowed items sent semi-annually in February and August to all users with items on loan.  This notice serves as a reminder of items on loan from the library

Courtesy Notice : reminder notice sent 7 days before an item’s due date

Overdue Notice : sent the day after an item is due.  Items are changed to overdue status

Lost Notice : sent 28 days after an item is due.  Items are changed to lost status

Blocks

CSIRO staff are blocked from further borrowing once 3 or more items are overdue

Borrowing can easily be reinstated by requesting a renewal of items still required (and in hand), or advising library staff that items have been misplaced
